Your first Christmas in the new place! Deciding where to put the tree, figuring out how Santa is going to get into the house if you don't have a fireplace and practicing your appreciation expressions when your family members get you something stupid.

To me, one of my favorite traditions when celebrating Christmas in a new place is making sure to get too big of a tree! Every house I have lived in there is a pitch mark in the ceiling somewhere. Jamming a tree into a corner with the top bent over and the angel plastered against the ceiling looking down at you is just part of the celebration. Getting your sister a puzzle and taking one piece out, well, that just has to be done!! Love to hear about your non-traditional family traditions!
