Willy's Whimsical Wednesday Words of Wisdom
Weed and Feed can be a wonderful tool in making your
lawn look outstanding! Everyone has their idea on when and how much
etc. to apply. I put on less than half what the brand directions calls
for twice as often as it says to. What!!?
I
know you believe you heard what I said, but I am not sure you realize
that what you heard is not what I meant. Try that line at home tonight.

Anyway, one thing
that you won't find on the package directions is that Weed and Feed will
eventually kill your trees. Applied around the drip line of your tree
canopy enough times and you will eventually kill the tree. I recommend
spot spraying in that area and fertilizing with a non-herbicide
fertilizer. Don't get discouraged if your lawn doesn't look amazing
tomorrow. It takes 2 years of vigilance to clear your lawn of weeds and
promote a healthy grass root base to keep that lawn looking great during
stress. Yours and the lawn's both!
